Visualize avalanche risk zones on your GPX tracks over 3D maps

Elurte is a digital tool designed for planning ski touring and mountaineering routes. This application allows you to project GPX tracks onto a 3D map, facilitating the interpretation of the topography and terrain before the activity.

Elurte functions as a supplementary informational aid for planning, enabling the user to cross-reference the terrain's topography with current avalanche risk variables, which are manually entered by the user. It is based on a mathematical approximation, meaning it is subject to limitations and potential inaccuracies; therefore, the user must possess the knowledge to interpret the reliability of the displayed information.

Key Features:

🗺️ 3D Terrain Visualization: Detailed representation of the mountain environment to facilitate the reading of slopes, ridges, and valleys.

📂 GPX File Import: Ability to load and visualize predefined routes directly onto the terrain model.

⚠️ Risk Variable Projection: By entering parameters from the current Avalanche Bulletin (such as risk level and dangerous aspects), the application visually highlights areas on the map that theoretically match those dangers.

Objective of the application: Elurte aims to provide a better spatial visualization of the route and its topographic characteristics. It does not predict avalanches or validate the safety of a slope; instead, it offers a graphical representation of data to assist in terrain analysis.

This application is exclusively a visual planning and support tool. The data shown are estimates based on Digital Terrain Models (DTM) and information entered by the user, and may therefore contain inaccuracies.

Elurte DOES NOT substitute:

Necessary technical training in snow science (nivology) and rescue.

Consultation of official weather and avalanche danger bulletins.

Constant on-site terrain evaluation.

Decision-making in the mountains is the sole responsibility of the user.
