Ten complete and indexed commentaries on the text of Umdat al-Ahkam

The book "Umdat al-Ahkam fi Kalam Khayr al-Anam" by Imam Abd al-Ghani al-Maqdisi (d. 600 AH) is a prominent hadith-based legal text. It focuses on hadiths related to legal rulings agreed upon by both al-Bukhari and Muslim, arranged according to the chapters of jurisprudence, making it an essential reference for students of Islamic law. It is distinguished by being one of the earliest books of hadiths in the two Sahihs (al-Bukhari and Muslim) to be free of chains of narration (isnad).

The text comprises nineteen books of legal rulings and contains 407 hadiths. In the introduction, al-Hafiz Abd al-Ghani al-Maqdisi states: "To proceed, some of my brothers asked me to summarize a selection of hadiths related to legal rulings, those agreed upon by the two imams, Abu Abd Allah Muhammad ibn Ismail ibn Ibrahim al-Bukhari and Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj al-Qushayri al-Naysaburi. I complied with their request, hoping for its benefit.

And Allah, the Exalted and Glorified, has granted this text acceptance. People have circulated it, students have memorized it, scholars have explained it, and biographies of its narrators have been written on it." The text of Umdat al-Ahkam has many commentaries, and in this application, we have selected the ten most important commentaries on this text, which are as follows:
