4 Plus Media (RTV 4+), widely known as the local television of the Lushnja and Fier Region area, constitutes one of the earliest and most stable media voices in Albania after the 1990s, testifying to a long history that began in a deeply transitional period for the country. RTV4+ is not simply a broadcasting station, but a media institution deeply rooted in the community life of this important region of Albania, focused on covering topics that directly affect the lives of citizens, farmers, students and entrepreneurs of the Myzeqe area and beyond.
The establishment of RTV 4 Plus dates back to 1997, a year that marks a dramatic turning point in the modern history of Albania. Amid the social, political and economic turmoil that engulfed the country after the collapse of pyramid schemes, the birth of a local media venture in Lushnja demonstrates not only courage, but also a clear vision for the need for independent and rapid information at the grassroots level. According to data, RTV 4 Plus is positioned as one of the first five local televisions that began broadcasting nationwide, filling an information gap that national media often neglected, due to their focus mainly on Tirana and central events.
Over the decades, it has continued to chronicle local elections, investments, accidents, sports successes (such as those of the Lushnja team) and historical and cultural developments, keeping public debate and local government accountability alive. As the only local television station that has been broadcasting continuously since 1997 in this area, RTV 4 Plus has sealed its identity as an indispensable media reference for the Central-Southern Albania region.
