Acolytes is a dark-fantasy multiplayer strategy game where two teams of cultists clash in a battle of spells, sanity, and survival — all while a cosmic beast rises from the abyss.

⚔️ GAMEPLAY

Each team consists of two roles: a Warlock (attacker) and a Spellcaster (defender). Take turns casting powerful spells to destroy the enemy team or work together to slay the rising beast before it devours everyone.

Every action is determined by a dice roll — but beware: as your team's sanity drops, your spells may misfire, backfire, or hit the wrong target entirely.

🎲 SPELLS & ABILITIES

Warlocks wield destructive magic:
- Rituals — Single-target damage, life steal, sanity attacks, and resurrection
- AOE Magic — Devastating area spells including the double-edged Earthquake
- Constrict — Bind the beast to delay its rise
- Influence — Shift the beast's loyalty to turn it against your enemies

Spellcasters command support magic:
- Buffs — Empower your team's damage at a cost
- Barrier — Shield allies from incoming damage
- Healing — Restore health and sanity to keep your team alive
- Influence — Compete for control of the beast

🐙 THE BEAST

A cosmic horror rises over 10 turns. If no team has fallen by then, the beast fully awakens and begins attacking with devastating force. Control its influence to direct its wrath at your enemies — or unite to slay it for a shared victory.

🧠 SANITY SYSTEM

Sanity is more than just a number. As your team's combined sanity drops, a creeping madness takes hold:
- Confusion — 25% chance spells go astray
- Delirium — 50% chance of misfires
- Psychosis — 75% chance your magic turns against you

Manage your sanity carefully, or your most powerful spells could become your greatest threat.

🏆 GAME MODES

- 1v1 — Control both roles on your team and face off against a single opponent
- 2v2 — Team up with a friend, each taking a role, for intense cooperative battles
