The 39th Annual Congress of the European Association of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology and Intensive Care (EACTAIC) will take place in the beautiful and sustainable green city of Freiburg, Germany, on 23rd to 25th October 2024.
The leading theme of EACTAIC 2024 Annual Congress enhances the importance of “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI)” in modern medicine. The pandemic has taught us the importance of recognition of significant diverse communities and advantages of having a DEI workforce for patient comfort and improved treatment. A dedicated session will discuss the specific benefits and strategies to promote DEI and negative repercussions, if any, affecting our specialty.
As cardiothoracic and vascular Anesthesiologists and Intensivists, we play a key bounding role in perioperative medicine orchestrating collaboration with different specialties and healthcare professionals. Therefore, as we stand in crossroads of “hybrid approach” to anesthesia, there will be collaborative sessions with cardiac surgeons, cardiologists, perfusion specialists and operating room nurses. These sessions will highlight the importance of the high competency of anesthesiologists in coordinating tailored approach to cardiovascular medicine and advancement of patient care.
This year´s program also highlights the need of wellbeing and resilience in stressful operating room and intensive care units and methods to prevent burnout.
Lastly, leadership at different levels of clinical practice, from early career to advanced level practitioners highlights the career development pathway making it a complete justification to attend a conference of highest scientific, research and quality education.
