The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita is subdivided into 19 chapters consisting of 356 sections. The structure of the code is similar to the Indian Penal Code.
The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita - BNS 2023, sub-divided into twenty chapters, comprises three hundred and fifty-eight sections. The Code starts with an introduction, provides explanations and exceptions, and covers many offenses.
